Key Features

Autofill

The extension automatically identifies login fields on websites. When a match is found in your SplashID vault, it can instantly fill in your username and password, saving you time and reducing errors.

URL Matching

For autofill to work correctly, ensure the URL field in your record matches the website's login page.

Auto-capture

When you sign in to a new website or change your password, the extension can detect the new credentials and prompt you to save them as a new record in your SplashID vault.

Quickly search for any record in your vault without leaving your current browser tab.

How it works

The browser extension acts as a companion to your SplashID Pro 9 desktop application. It is available for desktop browsers on macOS and Windows (requires version 9.4.6 or higher of the desktop app).

Desktop Application Connection

To use the browser extension, the SplashID Pro 9 desktop application must be installed and logged in on your desktop. The extension communicates directly with the desktop app on your desktop to access your records.

Local Communication

All communication between the browser extension and the native SplashID app happens locally on your desktop. No sensitive record data is transferred through the cloud during this process, ensuring your information remains private and secure.

Sync Type Compatibility

Because the extension communicates locally with your native app, it works seamlessly for all sync type users, including Cloud Sync, WiFi Sync, and No Sync.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with the extension, please check the following:

  1. Update: Ensure you are using the latest version (9.4.6+) of both your browser and the SplashID native application.
  2. App Status: Check that your native SplashID Pro 9 application is open and you are currently logged in.
  3. Permissions: Ensure the extension has the necessary permissions to read and modify data on the websites you visit to enable autofill.
